The apartment is located in a historic building right next to one of Lisbon's most iconic landmarks: the São Jorge Castle. This duplex apartment is on the second floor or a building without lift so the access is made by stairs. Being inside the castle, one of the 7 hills of Lisbon you have to expect steep stairs. It's bright and spacious and it has been refurbished to combine comfort and modern commodities alongside the traditional features. The living room has an AC unit that is enough to heat up or cool down the whole apartment. There are two large traditional windows that allow for lots of natural light and that have access to a small portuguese balcony. There is a comfortable sofa for two people, two armchairs and a rocking chair. You have cable TV with international channels as well as Wi-Fi access. The living room space is wide and has also a dining area with a big table that sits four people comfortably and a single bed with a trundle bed underneath that allows to sleep two extra guest comfortably. The kitchen is a good sized kitchen with plenty of storage space access to a small balcony and it is fully equipped with all the necessary cooking and cleaning amenities including a dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen opens up to the living room with a counter that has two stools for informal meals. The bathroom contains a full-size bath-tub with shower.

The apartment is located right at the heart of historical Lisbon, by the main entrance to the Castle of São Jorge, in fact inside the castle walls. Castelo is situated between the typical old neighborhoods of Alfama and Mouraria. Within walking distance of the apartment, you will find most of Lisbon's principal attractions. Just downhill from the quaint and historic neighborhoods, you find yourself in the heart of downtown Baixa and Chiado, where you will find esplanades full of restaurants, bars, and cafés. In the surrounding traditional neighborhoods, you can find many traditional restaurants, cafes, and bars. Alfama also houses some the best Fado restaurants in Lisbon. Families have lived for generations in this area, which still retains a village-like atmosphere and most of its quaint 18th-century architecture; terracotta rooftops, little-cobbled streets, and flower-filled balconies. It really is a great place to walk around soaking up the atmosphere. Whilst staying up on top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon why not catch one of the famous electric trams that run up and down the historical streets of Lisbon.
