This newly refurbished 3-bedroom property is located on the first floor of a completely renovated building in Alfama, the old town district of Lisbon city center. It is a modern property with brand new furnishings and equipment, while at the same time maintaining the traditional architectural style. All 3 bedrooms have exterior windows, and the second of these, together with the spacious living room, has great sea views. It has 2 full bathrooms and an independent, fully-equipped kitchen.

The spacious living room is full of bright natural light, with the sun streaming in from the full-length windows which give wonderful river views over the rooftops of the old town Alfama district. There are a comfortable sofa, easy chairs and a flatscreen TV with international cable channels. There is also highspeed wi-fi Internet available throughout the property. There are a dining table and 6 chairs to one side of this room, allowing guests to eat here comfortably.

The main bedroom has a large double bed with bedside tables and ensuite bathroom. It has 2 exterior double-glazed windows looking on to the narrow Alfama streets behind, and traditional old stone window seats. There are several spacious fitted wardrobes for storing clothes and other belongings, and the room is heated for the cooler months. The thick walls provide sufficient insulation from the Summer sun to keep this room nice and cool. The ensuite bathroom has a large shower cabin, washbasin, mirror, bathroom cabinet, heated towel rack, and WC.

The second bedroom has 2 single beds and marvelous river views from both double glazed windows, one of which is full-length allowing guests to fully enjoy the warm sun. There is a bedside table with reading lamp, and this room also has several fitted wardrobes for storage. There is an electrical wall heater. From this room, apart from the river views, the nearby Miradouro das Portas do Sol can be seen. This is a magnificent Alfama viewpoint, and we recommend all our guests to visit for the great photo opportunities.

Just outside the second bedroom, in the corridor, is the second bathroom. This is a full bathroom with large shower cabin, heated towel rack, bathroom cabinet for personal belongings, washbasin and mirror, WC and bidet.

The third bedroom is a smaller, cozy room with a single bed occupying most of the space. A second single mattress is stored under this bed, and can be fixed to the first mattress to make a new double bed, or kept separate for two singles. The large window provides a view of the traditional residential houses in this historic area.

The fully-equipped kitchen is bright and spacious and includes all the necessary items for cooking: oven, vitroceramic cooker, microwave, pots and pans, blender, kitchen utensils. There are plates, bowls, glasses, knives and forks for 6 guests or more, and there are a small kitchen table and chairs to serve morning coffee. The apartment also has a washing machine and dishwasher.

This large apartment is located in the heart of the old town historical area of Lisbon's city center, called Alfama. This area of central Lisbon is one of the oldest and has dozens of traditional cafés and Fado restaurants scattered about the maze of narrow, cobbled streets. From the apartment, it is just a short walk to the Portas do Sol and Santa Luzia viewpoints, which provide marvelous photo opportunities and great views of the old rooftops, and the wide estuary of the River Tagus.

The São Jorge Castle and Cathedral are also within easy walking distance, as well as other notable sights such as the Fado Museum, The National Pantheon or the Feira da Ladra Flea Market held on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The Santa Apolonia train and metro station is also just 10 minutes walk away, and inside the station, there is a good supermarket called Pingo Doce, although there are also many smaller shops in the area.

Parking is not easy here since this is the center of a large city, but just 3 minutes away there is a public carpark at the Largo das Portas do Sol, while another possibility is to use the cheaper open-air carpark near the Santa Apolonia ferry terminal, which costs around 6€ per day.

Several buses and trams stop at the Portas do Sol, including the famous Number 28 Tram, which we recommend our guests take for a unique travel experience.

From

Wonderful place to experience charming Lisbon.

Fabulous apartment in the heart of Alfama. Easy to walk everywhere and only steps away from the tram lines that take you everywhere in Lisbon. I could live there! Impossible to reach by car or taxi so you have to drag bags along cobbled streets. But it’s a historic neighbourhood with narrow winding streets so that’s to be expected. Otherwise all else was perfect. From
