This small and cozy apartment is located on the ground floor of a completely renovated building in Alfama. There are a variety of traditional shops nearby, and you can easily get to most places to visit in Lisbon. One of the prime locations in Lisbon- the Mirador de Santa Luzia - is located only a short walk away, along with a stop on the famous number 28 tram. There, you can enjoy an unforgettable view over the Alfama neighborhood and the Tagus River.

The apartment has been renovated but retains some original features, such as the low door, the small window and a ceiling height of 2 meters. Its area, 17 m2, includes a small room/living room with a window and two single beds which can be used separately or placed together to make a double. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with all necessary utensils and a bathroom with shower.

The apartment is reasonably near the Santa Apolonia metro/train station, which connects Lisbon to the north of the country and Spain, making further travel easy. Although cars are prohibited in Alfama (except for residents), you will find a public car park 50 meters from the apartment (Alley of St. Helena - Largo das Portas do Sol).

This apartment is fantastically located in Alfama, next to the stairs that descend from the Largo das Portas do Sol toward the interior of the neighborhood. Alfama, first made famous in the books of José Saramago and the films of Wim Wenders is a medieval Moorish neighborhood that today presents a mix of the sophisticated cosmopolitan and the genuinely traditional. It can be said that this is the "village" in the heart of Lisbon.

Let yourself be surprised by the numerous alleys, stairs, churches and squares, built directly into the hillside, which, having survived the 1755 earthquake that destroyed much of the city, are a unique testimony to the architecture of Portugal's past.

It is the ideal place to explore hidden corners, to see fantastic views of the city and to be dazzled before the immense blue of the river Tagus so loved by Fernando Pessoa. Here you will find small tucked-away restaurants, fado houses, and old taverns. A highlight is to eat fresh sardines in June when the streets are filled with outdoor cafes and lively music during the festivities of the popular saints. One can also find small grocery shops, bars, and small restaurants. On one end of the neighborhood, you may also discover the Campo de Santa Clara flea market (recently renovated), held every Tuesday and Saturday.

Nearby, in front of the Santa Apolonia train station, enjoy a number of shops, restaurants, and bars with a more modern design. Here you can sample the unique cuisine of the most respected contemporary chefs and have fun dancing the night away to the sound of the best international DJs. This area also houses the LUX nightclub. From here you can explore the rest of the city by walking or using the historical nº28 tram to visit São Jorge Castle, Baixa, Bairro Alto, Chiado, and Santa Clara neighborhoods.
