- SQM 75
This spacious two bedroom apartment is the ideal choice for both a long weekend away as well as a great location for longer stays in Lisbon. It is located on the first floor of a central building with lift/elevator right in the heart of downtown Lisbon, in the Baixa district. It has a large double bed in the main bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom. A good sofa-bed in the living room allows up to 5 guests to stay here in complete comfort.
The living room is lit with plenty of natural light, which comes flooding in through the full-length, double-glazed windows which block out all the sound from the street below, but which may be opened to give access to a narrow balcony, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown Lisbon. There is a large flatscreen TV with cable channels, free broadband wi-fi Internet, the afore-mentioned sofa-bed, and other items of furniture, including a dining table and chairs. The room is centrally heated for winter and the thick walls make sure it doesn't get too hot in Summer.
The main bedroom has a large double bed, a bedside table and reading lamps and plenty of wardrobe storage space for clothes and other belongings. This room, like all others, has a central heating radiator. The second bedroom has two single beds, which can be pushed together if necessary, and a fitted cupboard for storing clothes, as well as a bedside table and lamps.
There is a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave and fridge, and all cutlery, crockery and other kitchen utensils to provide everything you need for a self-catering stay in central Lisbon.
The bathroom includes a bathtub and shower unit, wash-basin and bidet.
The apartment is located on the first floor, but there is also an elevator, meaning that this property is fully wheelchair accessible.
Located right in the heart of central Lisbon in the downtown Baixa area, if you stay here you'll be a short walk away from all major sights and tourist areas. Just minutes away from the "Sé" (Lisbon Cathedral) and the historic "Castle of St. George", the famous "Prata" street is in the heart of the old town and within walking distance to two metro or underground stations as well as the famous #28 tram that climbs the hills of Lisbon to the nearby Old Town of Alfama.
One of the best things about this area is that you can walk pretty much anywhere, but if necessary the area is also well-served by public transport. A 5-minute walk will get you to "Rossio" from where you can take the train to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the town of "Sintra". A longer walk (about 15m) will get you to "Cais do Sodré" from where you can get another train line to the beaches of Cascais and Estoril. If it's nightlife you're looking for then the "Bairro Alto" is also a short walk away.
There are plenty of mini-markets around here where you can buy fresh food to cook at home if you wish. There are also some fantastic specialized wine shops, restaurants and cafeterias, clothes and shoe shops and other commerce.
