Detailed description

This Chiado apartment is spacious and well-lit with plenty of natural light. It has a large living room with 1 double sofa bed and another single sofa-bed, allowing a total of 5 guests to stay here comfortably. Access is via an entrance hall with storage cupboards, and the high ceilings, typical of this Lisbon downtown area, immediately give you a feeling of space.

There are two full-length windows allowing the natural light to flood the room, and giving access to a narrow balcony looking out on to the traditional street below. The kitchenette in this area is fully-equipped with oven, cooker, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and everything you need for a self-catered stay in Lisbon.

The bedroom has plenty of space and is occupied by a large double bed. There is access to a narrow balcony and one other window means that this room is also bright and pleasing.

The bathroom is clean and modern, with a bathtub and shower unit, as well as wash-basin and bidet.

Location and Surroundings

The apartment is situated in Chiado, near the heart of the "Baixa Pombalina", Lisbon's downtown district with streets that criss-cross to form a grid which makes up the city centre close to the River Tagus. Here you can find a myriad of shops, cafeterias and restaurants, as well as the major sights and monuments of Lisbon

The area has excellent transport facilities, with bus, trams and metro stops all within a few minutes walking distance. The famous Tram 28 passes by the door of the apartment building, and the Baixa-Chiado and Terreiro do Paço metro stations are both nearby.

For shopping enthusiasts, the modern Chiado district is just up the street, and Rua Augusta is full of intersting stores, as well as dozens of cafés and restaurants, many with outdoor terraces.

The nearby Praço do Comércio is a huge square by the river, where you can enjoy Lisbon's wonderful weather, and just 10 minutes walk from here you can visit Bairro Alto, with its exciting nightlife. From here it is also possible to visit the Cathedral, Castle and the Old Town Alfama area, all within reasonable walking distance.
