How to Arrive

Airport Shuttle

Lisbon Airport has several professional transport services, starting at around 10 euros per person, so this is a very quick, easy and cheap way to arrive, especially if you have luggage. Please click here for more information about these services, with prices, booking information.

Taxi

There are always plenty of taxis waiting at the airport. Our advice is to not take the ones outside the Arrivals area, since they will have been waiting for clients a long time and sometimes could try to charge more to make that wait worth their while. Instead, go to the Departures area of the airport, and walk outside the building, where there are also taxis. The journey to any of our apartments should cost around 15 euros.

Alfama River Apartments in Calçada do Forte: Calçada do Forte is a very small street and it's possible the taxi driver doesn't know exactly where it is. You should explain that it is next to the "Museu Militar" (Military Museum), very near the Santa Apolonia station.

Mouraria Duplex: Please ask the taxi driver to take you to the Hotel Mundial in Martim Moniz square. We will meet you there.

Alfama Duplex: If you take the taxi to the "Portas do Sol" (a very well known terrace and viewpoint), we will meet you there.

Public Transport

Alfama River Apartments in Calçada do Forte: Walk outside the airport to the bus-stop of the number 745 bus. This will take you direct to the Santa Apolónia Metro & Train Station. Get off the bus here, cross the road, and walk towards the entrance of the Military Museum, opposite the main entrance of the station. To the right of the Military Museum is Calçada do Forte.

Mouraria Duplex: Walk outside the airport to the CarrisTur Aerobus bus-stop. This bus leaves approximately every 20 minutes from 7am to 11pm, every day of the week. Take the Aerobus to Rossio, and then walk about 500 metres to the Martim Moniz square. With your back to the Hotel Mundial, take the first steps to the right, just past a cafeteria, and follow the cobbled street up for about 50 metres until you reach number 16.

Alfama Duplex: Walk outside the airport to the CarrisTur Aerobus bus-stop. This bus leaves approximately every 20 minutes from 7am to 11pm, every day of the week. Take the Aerobus to Praça do Comércio, and then walk to the Rua da Conceição, where you can get the famous Number 28 Tram. The tram goes up past the Cathedral, and you can get off at the Portas do Sol terrace and viewpoint. Walk down the steps to the left of the cafeteria, take the first left half-way down the steps and then turn right. At the bottom of the next steps, to the left, you can see the number 16 door of Beco do Garces.

Left Luggage

Our check-out time is 12pm latest and check-in time 3pm earliest. If there are no guests checking out on the day you arrive, it may be possible to check-in earlier than 3pm (please ask). However, if there are guests checking out on the same day, we need time to properly clean and prepare the apartment for your visit and we are sure you will unerstand that it is necessary to wait until 3pm.

If this happens and you want to leave your luggage safely while you take a walk round to discover the area, the nearby Santa Apolonia Station has several large lockers, suitable for 1 large suitcase each. Go into the main entrance and walk along the right platform. Just before the "Pingo Doce" supermarket you can find the automatic luggage lockers.

The first hour costs 2 euros, then a further 1.50 euros for up to 4 hours, a further 2 euros for up to 8 hours and a further 2.50 euros for up to 24 hours (total = 8 euros/day), which is the maximum time you can leave your luggage. You have to pay the first hour to leave your bags, and pay the rest when you want to take them back.
