This central apartment combines old world tradition with modern comforts. It has been renovated in a modern style but conserves the stonework and arches of the original house.

This is a first-floor apartment located right in the centre of Lisbon just round the corner from the well-known Rossio square. The front door opens out into a spacious, open plan living room and dining room. The dining space has a dining table and chairs, and leading off to one side there is a fully-equipped kitchen with electric oven, hob with extractor fan, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, and all the necessary cutlery and crockery for a comfortable self-catering stay.

Passing through the either of the 2 stone arches, we come to the living area, brightly decorated in modern colours and with armchair, pouffe and a sofa, as well as a flatscreen cable TV and a high-speed wi-fi Internet connection.

At the far end of the property, there are 2 doors leading to each of the two bedrooms. Each one has a double bed, window, bedside tables and reading lamps. There is also a cupboard in each one for storing clothes and other belongings.

Note that the double bed in the second bedroom is a bit narrower: 1.20m x 2.00m. Two guests may sleep here, but they should be aware of the dimensions.

The bathroom is clean, modern and functional, with a stand-up shower unit.

Location and Surroundings

The apartment is located in a small cobbled street which leads up from the central area of the Rossio square. This is the historic city centre of Lisbon, close to the Praça de Figuiera, Rossio and Restauradores squares, right in the heart of the Pombaline downtown district.

From here, you can easily walk to major sights like the MUDE Design museum, the Santa Justa elevator, which offers magnificent views of the city and river, and also to the historic neighbourhoods of Alfama, Chiado, Mouraria and the Bairro Alto, as well as to the riverfront to enjoy a walk along the expansive River Tagus estuary.

This area of town has hundreds of small traditional cafés and restaurants, and the major shopping districts of Baixa and Chiado are just 5 minutes walk away.

Transport is easy, since the airport bus can leave you just a short walk away in the Rossio square, and there are metros, trams and taxis in this area to take you wherever you wish.

From the nearby Rossio train station, you can take daytrips to Sintra and beyond, and the beaches of Cascais and Estoril are just a short train journey from the Cais do Sodré train station, 10 minutes away.

There is a security deposit of 150 euros to be paid in cash at check-in, and which will be returned in full if no damage is done to the apartment during your stay
If you are checking in between 20:00h and 00:00h there is a 30 euros "late check in" surcharge. After 00:00h there is a 40 euros charge. Initial cleaning is absolutely free.
