The ALFAMA RIVER II APARTMENT is is a two-bedroom 3rd floor flat with truly magnificent views of the expansive River Tagus estuary, and suitable for up to 6 guests. The apartment layout is as follows:

This self-catering property is one of a pair, because we own and rent the 4th floor apartment also. Both apartments have similar space and facilities and together with the other 2-bedroom apartments we have in this building can be rented together if you have a large group. The building is located right next to the traditional Alfama district, and is literally just 2 minutes walk from the Santa Apolonia Metro & Train Station, where there is a convenient supermarket. The apartment has truly magnificent views of the expansive River Tagus estuary, and even the Cristo Rei statue across the river in Almada can be seen from its windows.

The apartment is located next to the Old Town district of Alfama, and just round the corner from the Santa Apolonia Metro & Train station.
This area has plenty of cafeterias, bars, traditional Fado restaurants, as well as the small village-type shops typical of Alfama.
In the Santa Apolonia station there is a "Pingo Doce" supermarket and just opposite the station there is a chemist's (pharmacy).
On the opposite side of the main road, next to the river, there is a large open-air carpark which charges just 4.95 euros per day.
The area is convenient for sight-seeing: you can easily walk to the central Praça do Comercio square in about 15 minutes, and the wonderful "miradouros" (viewpoints) of Alfama, like the Portas do Sol, and Miradouro Santa Luzia are just a 10 minute walk away. The majestic Panteão Nacional (National Pantheon) - where the famous Fado singer Amalia Rodrigues is buried - is just round the corner.
NOTE: This is a 3rd floor apartment in an old traditional area of central Lisbon, where the buildings don't have lifts/elevators and is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility problems.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay in Lisbon, thanks in no small part to this lovely apartment overlooking the port. Close to shopping and transportation at the nearby metro station, right in the historical alfama district, and a short walk to the center of the city. The apartment was clean, convenient, airy and comfortable.

This trip was wonderfull ! The city is really typicall, with a lot of different things to do (visits, beachs not so far, animated nights). Transports are very well organisated, food and drinks are delicious and portuguese people are so nice ! And, on top of it all, this appartement was a very good experience : Roger was here at our arrival, the appartement was totally and recently cleaned. We had had all explainations needed for our 4 days stay. The location of the appartement is absolutely perfect (subway, trains and buses at 2 minutes walk from the appartement). The equipement is complete. Well, all I have to say is "thank you Roger. We are really happy of this experience and we hope coming back another day". For sure, it'll be in this appartement !

The room was a surprise after arriving at the apartment block, it was modern, clean and comfortable. The walk up the stairs was an interesting and memorable challenge but well worth it. The apartment was out of the bussle and hussle of the city but close enough to walk in or catch the local buses or trains for a short trip to the city. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The apartment newly renowed was welcoming and very well located. We enjoyed wandering in the tiny streets of almafa and benefiting from the magnificiant view on the Tagus River. Shops, restaurants, typical trams are closed to the apartment. If you opt for this stay, don't forget that the Lisboa stairs are straight!

We had a fantastic time in Lisbon..the apartment had everything we needed and the location was really good since we arrived and departed at Santa apolonia station. The view of the river is absolutely a highlight. Roger was very helpful and a great host..he provided heaps of useful information. We have been Roger's guest for a city weekend. It's a pretty location in alfama, the view is as shown on the website's movie. Supermarket nearby in the railway station and typical fado restaurants around the corner. The appartment is fully equiped, also very suitable for longer stays to explore the surroundings or beaches. Public transport is good value. Roger provide excellent check in and out support and suggestions for a real Lisboa experience.

We stayed in this Alfama River 2 apartment, it has a beautiful view and a great location near the fado restaurants and city centre. There are cafés with great pastries close-by, perfect for breakfast, a tapas bar and also a supermarket, metro station and a nice public swimming pool. The apartment was comfortable and clean, with a bright living room and lots of good TV channels in English. The kitchen had everything we needed. Roger was very helpful and easy to contact.

Lejligheden ligger perfekt til et besøg i Lissabon. Lige i Alfama med masser af hyggelige butikker, marked et par gange om ugen, gode restauranter både med Fado og andre med billig og god mad og gader der er hyggelige at gå i.
Lejligheden ligger tæt på havnen. Den ligger også tæt på metroen. Lejligheden er hyggelig, har alle de bekvemmeligheder vi kunne ønske os. Der er en fremragende udsigt til 3 sider.
Vi havde problem med vaskemaskinen, som blev løst meget hurtigt selv om det var en søndag. I det hele taget fik vi en super service fra Roger, som var nem at få kontakt med enten via telefon, sms eller mail. Et sted vi kun kan anbefale til andre.

The apartment is perfect for visiting Lisbon. Right in the Alfama with lots of cozy shops, market a few times a week, good restaurants, both with Fado and others with cheap, good food and the streets are pleasant to walk in.
Located near the port. It is also close to metro. The apartment is nice, has all the amenities we could wish. There is an excellent view on 3 sides.
We had a small problem with the washing machine, which was solved very quickly even though it was a Sunday. On the whole we had a super service from Roger, who was easy to get in contact with either via phone, SMS or email. A place we can recommend to others.

The apartment was exceptionally clean, well kept and very functional. We loved the spacious kitchen, bar and dining room, especially since we had planned some meals at home. I also really appreciated the thoughtfulness of providing all the accommodations of a dishwasher, washing machine, cleaning supplies, hair dryer, tupperware, etc. We found everything we needed except maybe a few extra towels.
