The ALFAMA RIVER II APARTMENT is is a 1-bedroom 3rd floor flat with truly magnificent views of the expansive River Tagus estuary, and suitable for up to 4 guests.

This self-catering property is one of a pair, because we own and rent the 4th floor apartment also. Both apartments have the same space and facilities and together with the other 2-bedroom apartments we have in this buildingm can be rented together if you have a large group. The building is located right next to the traditional Alfama district, and is literally just 2 minutes walk from the Santa Apolonia Metro & Train Station, where there is a convenient supermarket. The apartment has truly magnificent views of the expansive River Tagus estuary, and even the Cristo Rei statue across the river in Almada can be seen from its windows.

The apartment is located next to the Old Town district of Alfama, and just round the corner from the Santa Apolonia Metro & Train station.

This area has plenty of cafeterias, bars, traditional Fado restaurants, as well as the small village-type shops typical of Alfama.

In the Santa Apolonia station there is a "Pingo Doce" supermarket and just opposite the station there is a chemist's (pharmacy).

On the opposite side of the main road, next to the river, there is a large open-air carpark which charges just 4.95 euros per day.

The area is convenient for sight-seeing: you can easily walk to the central Praça do Comercio square in about 15 minutes, and the wonderful "miradouros" (viewpoints) of Alfama, like the Portas do Sol, and Miradouro Santa Luzia are just a 10 minute walk away. The majestic Panteão Nacional (National Pantheon) - where the famous Fado singer Amalia Rodrigues is buried - is just round the corner.

NOTE: This is a 3rd floor apartment in an old traditional area of central Lisbon, where the buildings don't have lifts/elevators and is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility problems.

We had a wonderful stay in lisbon and the apartment was just what we wanted- it was in an excellent location and your info about the pingo doce being at the end of the train station was very useful. we were glad that we had the views instead of the extra space. If we had been staying longer then we may have opted for some outside space but it was perfect for what we wanted and we will recommend to our friends and family. thank- you again. Cathy

Lejligheden ligger perfekt til et besøg i Lissabon. Lige i Alfama med masser af hyggelige butikker, marked et par gange om ugen, gode restauranter både med Fado og andre med billig og god mad og gader der er hyggelige at gå i.
Lejligheden ligger tæt på havnen. Den ligger også tæt på metroen. Lejligheden er hyggelig, har alle de bekvemmeligheder vi kunne ønske os. Der er en fremragende udsigt til 3 sider.
Vi havde problem med vaskemaskinen, som blev løst meget hurtigt selv om det var en søndag. I det hele taget fik vi en super service fra Roger, som var nem at få kontakt med enten via telefon, sms eller mail. Et sted vi kun kan anbefale til andre.

The apartment is perfect for visiting Lisbon. Right in the Alfama with lots of cozy shops, market a few times a week, good restaurants, both with Fado and others with cheap, good food and the streets are pleasant to walk in.
Located near the port. It is also close to metro. The apartment is nice, has all the amenities we could wish. There is an excellent view on 3 sides.
We had a small problem with the washing machine, which was solved very quickly even though it was a Sunday. On the whole we had a super service from Roger, who was easy to get in contact with either via phone, SMS or email. A place we can recommend to others.

We did enjoy our stay and thought it good value for money. The apartment was lovely and light and fresh and very well equipped and finished, especially the kitchen. There were lots of good little touches, like the proper hairdryer, lights over the bed, excellent free wi-fi and the basic food supplies. It was just as good as the photos, fabulous views and plenty of room for two.

I believe I can speak for Imran in our agreement that renting your apartment, instead of a hotel room, made our stay in Lisbon ideal. We enjoyed feeling like locals coming "home" to the apartment, which had everything we needed to enjoy cooking some meals at home and to relax enjoying the ocean breeze and the view.
The apartment was exceptionally clean, well kept and very functional. We loved the spacious kitchen, bar and dining room, especially since we had planned some meals at home. I also really appreciated the thoughtfulness of providing all the accommodations of a dishwasher, washing machine, cleaning supplies, hair dryer, tupperware, etc. We found everything we needed except maybe a few extra towels.

I had a fruitful and delightful time in Lisbon and, regrettably, I must return to Rome, as planned, on 23OCT'09. I had a lovely stay in the apartment. It was really nice, comfortable and the location was perfect. And above all, the weather was beautiful (what more could I ask for.....).
